INTER BANK quizzes led a Weston bank secretary to the holiday of a lifetime with five star hotels and chauffeur driven cars.
Forty-seven-year-old Daphne Hudson of Coniston Crescent, Weston, used to play for the bank's quiz team but the quiz bug grew and she applied to play on the TV game, 'Sale of the Century'.
Three years ago Daphne got on to the programme and won her contest.
Then last October, Australian television asked the British organisers to choose nine former winners to appear on the Australian version in Melbourne.
Daphne, who works at the National Westminster Bank in Oxford Street, was picked to play two weeks ago, and has just returned from the holiday.
Profitable
She isn't letting on who won the 'Ashes' game until it is screened but she said-it was "very profitable."
"It was a real eye opener," she said. "Prizes over there are out of this world."
'Sale of the Century' Australian style is shown every weekday and carries prizes of 100,000 Australian dollars and a sports car.
Now Daphne is busy revising in case she is chosen to play in a special Christmas edition due to be recorded this year.
"You have to put in a lot of hard work - you can't just do it off the top of your head," she said.
