Jean of Edinburgh asks...
I do like your blouses – where do you get them from?
Daphne replies...
Most of my blouses come either from Eastex or Marks and Spencer. I do buy a few tops, mainly cardigans from catalogues although quite often I’m disappointed when the colour turns out to be nothing like the photograph. Anyone else have the same problem? I am also very lucky in that I have a friend, Val Davis, who makes me up sets of necklaces and earrings to match my outfits.

Josie of South Norwood, London asks...
Where is Eggheads filmed and how many do you make in a day? Can I get tickets to come and watch?
Daphne replies...
We usually record the series at the BBC Television Centre in London, although we did make one series at Elstree when the London studios were unavailable. We make 4 programmes a day starting at 10.30 once Dermot has finished his Breakfast stint and hope to finish around 7.30 in the evening. However sometimes the recordings take longer, especially if there are a lot of “sudden death” questions which unfortunately have to be edited out to keep within the 30 minute timescale. There is no audience for Eggheads as the studio isn’t large enough to accommodate them.

Ed of Norwich asks...
Do you and the other Eggheads get on together and do you socialise outside of the programme?
Daphne replies...
I don’t think the programme would work as well if there was any discord between the five of us Occasionally we disagree about the right answer to give and have now learnt to pay more attention to Chris! Apart from that, we all love working on the show and it really is such fun to take part in. Some of us meet up occasionally when we are not recording, especially at the Quizzing Grand Prix events but apart from CJ who lives not far from me in Wales, I don’t really see the others outside of the recordings.

Frances of Preston asks...
I heard you say on the programme that you gave talks. Would you come and give one to my group?
Daphne replies...
Before I started doing Eggheads, I did give talks on being a television quiz contestant to local WI groups and this was mentioned during one of the earlier series. However, I’ve had to give that up due to the success of Eggheads as most talks are booked up a year in advance and I never know when the BBC are going to commission further programmes. I now keep my diary free, rather than agree to give a talk sometime in the future and then have to cancel at the last moment. You will appreciate that with 6 of us to organise, there is a lot of juggling of dates and of course, the studio also needs to be available at the right time.

Fred of Harrogate asks...
When are we going to get more Eggheads – I really miss the programme!
Daphne replies...
Don’t worry Fred. In January and February we are recording 80 new programmes so that should fill the gap for 2007.
