Eggheads

I evetually got knocked-out of 15 to 1 in the Autumn of 2002 and I was a bit disappointed because it had been a way of life for nearly 3 years. But the following Spring I was asked by The Guardian newspaper if I would like to take part in what they called "The Dream Team". Apparently in London during that period there were a lot of quizzes that teams could go to where they could win money and somebody had come up with a brilliant idea. Why didn't they get a team together of really well known quizzers and see how well they did.

I was invited to go up to London and my husband Pete came with me. We had five lovely days in London, sight-seeing during the day and then going to a quiz every evening. Which of course I thought was wonderful.

Afterwards they wrote a really affectionate article about us. They obviously like us and I like to think that from that Eggheads was born.

Later that year I had a call from 12 Yard Productions asking me if I'd like to go up and discuss a new quiz show format with them, which I did and they subsequently asked me to take part in filming the pilot and later taking part in the show as one of the Eggheads.
